Dear Kailash,

I am not able to answer your exact query about the whereabouts of
some Mr Gupta, though I do wish to share what I have read.

It is written in Mahabharat,  that after jaidratha killed Arjun's son
Abhimanyu in chakravyuha, Arjun swore to kill jaidratha before the
sunset next day or to burn himself.

Though Arjun fought bravely for the major part of the next day but
Jaidratha remained in hiding, closely gaurded by Kaurav army, It seemed
that Arjun will not be able to fulfill his promise so he will have to burn 
himself.

Then, it is written, Krishna used his Sudarshan chakra to hide the Sun.
The Kauravs thought that evening has befallen, felt relaxed and gathered
to see Arjun burning himself. Jaidratha came in open. Krishna removed
Sudarshan chakra and uncovered the Sun, it was day time again so war
restarted and Arjun coolly killed Jaidratha.

Scientifically oriented people have boo boo-ed the idea of the Sun getting
covered by a chakra and have postulated that it was a total solar
eclipse. As the great war of Mahabharat was faught in the fields of
Kurukshetra, they have collected astronomical data to find when Total
Solar Eclipses took place over kurukshetra near evening.

(It does not happen every now and then. A total solar eclipse is at all
visible from a place on earth after a gap of 16 years, then after 4 years,
and so on 16, and 4 years.) 

Further, after Bheeshma pitamah was riddled  by arrows he refused to
die as long as the Sun is in Uttarayana ( or Dakshinayana ) and
succumbed  only after the earth completed its revolution around the Sun
to come to the proper inclination.

Also, Mahabharat is written in pure hardcore Sanskrita, language
brought to India by Aryans. The advent and fall of aryan civilisations
have been checked.

Adding these and other instances mentioned in various versions of
Mahabharat, they are trying to zero upon dating of Mahabharata.

(However, they are not able to find out how the Sun god can come to
earth to impregnate little kunti to give birth to karna, nor can they find the
original formula of VIAGRA that king Dhritarashtra and Queen Gandhari
utilised to gave birth to 100 kaurav brothers ( apart from sisters ) in such
a short span of time to synchronise with same karna. religious oriented
people please forgive me and don't take any offence).

I recently saw a news article that an IAS officer of Madhaya Pradesh
called some Gupta was awarded a PhD from Sagar University (not very
much sure of the university name) for his work on the subject.

I was travelling at that time and now I can not locate this news article.

I wanted a copy of his PhD thesis and for this, I need Gupta's fax or
email address or snail mail address.

I shall be thankful if you could help me.
