Dear Nukkies,

I saw the most awaited movie of the (Post Lagaan) year
and I felt that the movie is real good except for the
fact that it has a very very weak screenplay, set
design, costumes, dialogues. 

I'd like to emphasise on dialogues by Abbas Tyrewala,
Asoka is set in the period of 320 BC and at that time
urdu never existed, I reckon the language spoken was
Sanskrit, but making a movie in sanskrit is certainly
difficult. Abbas Tyrewala should've used HINDI but
he's used urdu words such as TARAF(Direction) and
Gulzar has used words such as GHAM in the song Raat Ka
Nasha.

Manish Malhotra has succesfully designed costumes,
perfectly suited for a Ramp Walk but not a Historical
Epic such as ASHOKA, the biggest mistake was giving
Manish Malhotra an assignment such as this. 

Sabu Cyril's set design wasn't that impressive.

On the whole Asoka is another film that has decieved
and shaken Shah Rukh Khan the Producer but nothing can
shake Shah Rukh Khan the Actor, he was brilliant from
the frame1 to the last frame, he has emerged
victorious in a screenplay which managed to complicate
his character.

Shah Rukh Khan made me cry in most of the scenes
though the lines he was given and the mood of the
frame and also the twists were shitty he managed to
come out with a performance that deserves an award.

Santosh Sivan in the name of history has took so much
liberty, which he is going to regret.

End of the day SHAH RUKH KHAN is amazing as Ashok and
Kareena is Brilliant.

Shah Rukh has come up with a real good performance
after Mohabbatein, he is undoubtedly one of the finest
actors in the country today.

Fairly Lagaan has to be sent to the oscars and not
Asoka...let the decision makers decide.
