Tip of the day: Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
It's already tomorrow in Australia. -- Charles Schulz

Hi j.a.g,
There are people who celebrate Diwali without
brusting crackers. I am one of them. The main reason
that I quit brusting crackers is that I'm allergic to
the chemicals used, my lovely plants and garden were
dead after Diwali, the smoke from the crackers choke
me and ofcourse polluted the whole place. I did suffer
from breathing problems. It becomes a difficult task
for me to breath during Diwali! The sound of crackers
are intolerable.
An oil bath, pooja at home, visit to the temple and
distributing sweets to friends and relatives are the
main activities that me and my family do during
Diwali. At evenings, the oil diyas are lit to ward off
darkness.
I like this festival, though. Hmm...only when you
are affected, will you realize the harmful effects of
crackers. Sometimes it becomes so difficult to educate
your own family, but after seeing the bad effects,
they might stop brusting crackers. Personal
experience(!)
   Happy Diwali.
