dear all, good news for those using internet at night.
a BSNL tariff circular dated 01-11-2002, no.3-47/2002- R&C states,

"it has been decided to allow concession in call charges for dial up internet access over PSTN using assigned dial up access code 172xxx. this tariff will be applicable for all internet calls originating in BSNL network with any internet service provider in a non- discriminatory manner." 

the tariff will be half during 2230 to 0630.
comes into effect from 7-11-2002.

so check your next telephone bill to verify that you have got the concession if you are getting a detailed bill.
