[nukkad] Stop flooding the list !!

Folks,

If the current onslaught of replies to puzzles, queries/ postings of
cricket scores, posting of humor (jokes - "sardar" or otherwise) and
"welcomes" to new subscribers to the list *D o e s   N o t* stop soon,
we may be once again compelled to shut down the list for a while........
till people can control the urge to hit the 'send'/ 'reply to all'
button in response to messages posted on the list.

Or it may so happen, that the traffic on the list may exceed the
specified limit and the server admins themselves may shut it down. 

To prevent this from happening, please follow the list guidelines. These
have been sent out to the subscribers to this list recently. If you are
new to the list, send an e-mail to 

                   list-owner@mumbai-central.com 

asking for a copy of the same.

I will attempt to briefly highlight the guidelines to be followed while
you are subscribed to the list (although I doubt whether many of you
really *read* the guidelines).

- *D o   N o t* ask for / post cricket scores to the list. 


- *D o   N o t* hit the 'reply to all' (or 'Reply to Sender and all
recipients') button if the content of the mail concerns only the sender
and is of not any importance to other members on the list.


- *D o   N o t*  post jokes/ humor (especially 'sardar' jokes) on the
list. "Nukkad" is *not* a joke list.


- *D o   N o t*  post content which is offensive or vulgar (even
remotely) on the list.


- *D o   N o t*  post puzzles/ riddles on the list. Also, while replying
to any puzzle/ riddle, reply only to the sender. If the sender of the
puzzle wishes, he/she can then compile all the answers and post them as
a single mail to the list.


- *D o   N o t*  subscribe others to the list without their permission.
We are tired of receiving "Why am I receiving all this junk mail ?" and
"Please stop sending me these mails" type of e-mails. 


- *D o   N o t*  include the list address in other mailing lists.


- Trim your mails (especially the irrelevant parts like headers and
footers).


- Include your e-mail address at the end of your postings to the list.
This will help people in replying to you directly.


Please note that anybody violating the guidelines will be automatically
removed from the list. Some of you have already received warnings
regarding the same. Please don't make us remove you from the list.
