[nukkad] Pet Ferret pulls her weight at missle center

Colorado Springs,Colo  the U.S Space Command has thee latest computers and electronic geat and plentyu of highly trained employees. 

 

But when it ran into a problem at its year 2000 missle warning center at Peterson Air Force Base, Misty the ferret saved the day.

 

To connect new computers at the center, wires had to be threaded through crowded 40-ft long conduits.  Lt. Col. Randy Blaisdell, who supervised the building of the center, volunteered Misty, his pet for six years.  He recalled that ferrets had been used to pull wires through tight spaces in World War II airplanes.

 

Blasdell tied a p;iece o yarn around the 1-pound ferret's mid-section.  Misty dashed through the conduit, towing hte yarn, and then the yarn was used to pull a wire.  Misty made several trips, and her work was done in an hour.

 

All it cost was a strawberry Pop Tart, Misty's favorite treat.
