This is a nice story of how a person from impersonal conception
accepts the personal form of God and becomes a bhakti yogi.

A person who was very interested in knowing about God, went to an
Advaiti and asked him about Absolute Truth. The advaiti explained him
many vedantic passgaes and told him,"The conclusion of all Vedanta is
realising that "so'ham asmi"(sah-He the Supreme; aham-I; asmi-am) which
means I'm the Supreme God". The person went back very happily and on his
way he met a devotee. He asked the devotee to explain about God. The
devotee explained  many vedic statements in great detail and told him
that you are eternally the servant of God. The ultimate realisation in
spiritual life is to understand "daso' ham asmi"(dasa-servant;
aham-I;asmi-am) which means that I'm servant of God". Then the person
went back to the advaiti. The advaiti preached him and told that advaita
is the ultimate conclusion and told him to add 'sa' to whatever he has
learnt. Previously he learned "daso' ham asmi" from the devotee.Now he
added 'sa' and understood his identity as "sada so' ham
asmi"(sada-always; sah-he; aham-I; asmi-am) meaning "I'm always the
SUpreme". Then again he came across the devotee and the devotee
convinced him about bhakti and told him to add 'da' to his previous
identity. So he understood his identity as dasa dasaoham asmi(I'm the
servant of servant of God). In this way he shuttled between the advaiti
and the devotee. Every time the advaiti added a 'sa' to his identity and
the devotee added 'da' to his identity. Finally the devotee convinced
him completely about his relationship with God and his constituional
position as God's servant.Now the person understood his real identity as
"dasa dasa dasa dasa dasa dasa daso' ham asmi". I'm the servant of
servant of servant of servant of servant of servant of servant of God".
He quickly realised this understanding and attained the lotus feet of
the Lord .
