Well the actions of a few can very easily assign an entire religious 
grouping  of people to an undesired level.

And it is apparent that there are these idiots in all religions. Even so 
called progressive sect of Islam like the Dawoodi Bohra community have their 
lives ruled by Dictats.

Finally the choice is on the chooser. The peopleof Talegoan and the Muslims 
in India in general.

However this freedom of choice is more often than not impinged / encroached 
upon etc by the most hideous of human beings the politician.

Any changes in Muslim law would have to have the backing of people like the 
Imam of Jumma Masjid and people similarly placed and if he says no and u 
carry the actthrough.. damn thats an entire veote bank down the drain. I 
cant see a politician taking that risk.

In teh final analysis it is education alone that can transform a people and 
thought, but this education is again what will give the man in the slum the 
possibility of making the same educated choice as the man in the penthouse.

Can the khadi clad gandhi topi'ed plastic smile ... politician afford to 
give his "blind followers" that choice. It is possibly the one thing that 
keeps people like Laloo power by keeping them ignorant.
