Good point we do have a long list of cricketers who are / were talented.

But talent at playing the game does not make the player an automatically 
good choice as coach.

That was the first point the second point is that these players may have 
fixed ideas on what a particular player lacks or is s trong in and is 
bringing with him a  whole series of pre judgements in a game that is 
dangerous.

Most importantly our teams have all suffered from regionalism and nepotism.  
A case in point was teh forced selection on teh basis of quota's of Noel 
David whose inclusion was insited upon by a selector Shivlal Yadav.

As long as a few ex-players are coaches, some guys will never make it to teh 
team trust me it has happened before and it will happen again.
