 The following advertisement has appeared in the  "Weekender"  Gomantak
times dated 12th. August,
 2001.

 Public Notice
 Invitation to Members
 of the Public to offer their views


 For the successful execution of the Plan and to encourage private
initiatives in all walks of life,
 Planning Commission, Government of India has constituted a Group to study
and suggest procedural
 reforms in the Government's  interface with  the Public
 In this connection, members of the Public are invited to offer their
valuable suggestions to the
 Group, as to where and how the Government can perform better in public
dealing. Specific suggestions
 by the Public can be made against any procedure/rule/law of the Government
of India, State
 Government and the local authorities, which have become obsolete or are
supposed to be hindering the
 growth of entrepreneurship, or causing avoidable hardship to the citizens
and therefore requires
 repeat/approbation/amendment so that it becomes simple and citizen
friendly. Suggestions about
 bringing in transparency and accountability and improving the quality of
Public services and
 utilities are also invited.
 The response from the public would help the Group to suggest remedial
measures for simplifying the
 procedures, improving the quality of the services and also the functioning
of the Government while
 dealing with the Public.


 The views may be forwarded by post / e-mail to the address given below
preferably within one month's
 time from the date of appearance of this advertisement in the media:-
