WOMEN AND CASTE

In almost every socio-theological group men have not done well with women.
They have relegated them to surrogate
status by divine decree deeming them half of men, or born to serve men as
gods.

Some citations worldwide:

Men -
* monopolize the male God and forbid women as priests
* disallow women to enter temple when menstruating
* pre-empt the killing of thousands of girl fetuses each day
* sequester women and keep them behind veils by decree
* hog schools, colleges, higher learning and thus best jobs.

Men -
* will not allow a women to be head of state
* in India Pakistan one was shot other jailed.

In many nations -
* women have less status in court
* their witness is considered half of a man's
* laws of inheritance favor men rather than women
* girls are tacitly considered less than boys
* boys take it for granted they are better
* wives are to cook, have sex, tend children and smile.

Women -
* cannot perform the last rites on their loved ones
* cannot be priests, mullahs, dasturs, padres, pundits
* cannot pray in some mosques, some temples, fire shrines
* cannot perform Christening, Navjote, Janoi puja
* cannot enjoin men and women nor allow divorce

Men -
* are at best men are self serving, at worst afraid of women.

If this is not so, what else is the reason?
