Then what else is the golden criteria to be a Maharashtrian? Are you trying 
to tell us that Maharashtrians should be Marathi speaking? I have a friend 
here whose mother tongue is Marathi but he is not from Maharashtra, he is 
from Belgaum in Karnataka. He considers himself a Marathi but not a 
Maharashtrian. For him Karnataka is his home state. Do you think Marathi 
speaking populace in Goa consider themselves to be Maharashtrians and not 
Goans? Well then you are mistaken my friend.
