LOVE - WHAT IS IT MADE OF?

Equal parts of abandon and selflessness and like afium*, only 
those who have experienced it would know.

It is like Soul Search where anything found cannot be described. 
It is perhaps more amenable to the question -

LOVE - WHAT IS IT NOT MADE OF?

Moderation - when one moderates this is an attraction.
Logic - nothing kills Love more quickly than logic.
Barter - with give and take Love becomes like a mandi.
Duty-bound - this is where matched marriages hope for Love.
Evolving - Love is sudden and complete, like Lightening.
Non-fatal - there is no such thing in Love.
Comfortable - never. But you would trade it for nothing.
Security bound - Uh huh. Nothing's more unpredictable
Connected to marriage - H'm?

Marlene Dietrich was verbose in what she wanted from 
Love and timid when it actually confronted her, which is 
the case with nine of any ten civilized proper women.

Film and the fame which stardom brings encouraged this
fantasy and she began to believe the many roles she
played, veering more from reality with every instance.

For a woman this duplicity is not only heady wine but much 
like hemlock, for it will sooner or later destroy any hope of
real love, because when it confronts her, she will not 
be able to differentiate it from the phantom she has created.

Unreality in Love is unforgiving and those who buy into it
end up alone and talking to shadows. Love is as real as icebergs,
far away but there.

If Dietrich's lover really did call the cops if she was 
late by a few minutes, she would, instead of taking this as
true love, would have said something like, "Are you an idiot? 
Now  you have made me late for the shooting!.".

Love is not for the practical. In the trade that amounts to
"timid".
