Hello,
Lot is being said about US politics and policies in the wake of recent
tragedies. For any act of terror, there is some underlying frustration some
where, over which emotions are built over a period of time. These emotions
when allowed to grow unbridled (mostly due to 

indifference by the government) culminate into kind of moves we just
witnessed.                                      USA is home to practically
each and every nationality, each and evry language group and each and every
religion practised on this planet. To serve these varied and radically
diverse aspirations and to allow them to vent, the present two party
political system is in no way sufficient and is totally out dated. Modern
world is built on free flow of ideas and American society permits all kinds
of ideas, from legitimising gay marriages to funny religious cults. However
when it comes to giving recognition to various and vividly differing
political parties to enter the election fray and make their own
representation in the government, they are as orthodox as nineteenth
century Europe. If one's aspirations are not satisfied with one party, say,
Democrats one has no other choice but to seek redress from Republicans, and
between them there is no apparent ideological difference. It is high time
that America reschedules its political set up and makes room for ideologies
and doctrines in its set up. After all not all who migrate to USA are
settling down there for their white women, computers, cars, baseball and
other materialistic gains. One reason why India has remained united despite
many odds like illeteracy, corruption, unemployment, relatively weaker
nationalism etc. is that it allows all shades of people into political
representation giving them keen sense of participation in national
programmes. During my both the visits I found no Indian interested or
having any sense of participation in their national set up. Pluralistic way
of living is the only answer to our future survival and betterment and good
begining can be done by US on this occassion by declaring herself a multi
party democracy.                                                     REST
