Some more research indicates that the uplifting message from the 
pilot is very likely a highly embelished version if not an outright 
fabrication.

There are a few versions of the story going around in email which
cast doubts on the veracity of the speech. For now, I am assuming
that some pilot on some flight made a heartwarming speech and some
added a whole bunch of 'masala' to make it more interesting.

Oh, and by the way, the whole Q33NY thing is entirely fake. Someone
made it all up. There is no flight number or anything related to
planes and flights which has that number.
