Food for thought........

The recent events in NY and DC are fresh in our minds and the images are
really horrifying. Innocent people killed and injured and many left in a
state of shock which they will carry all their lives.
At this time, as thinking educated people we must take some time off and
think and ask as to why such a thing happened to USA. When we look at
what the US has been upto in the recent past it is very obvious why USA
was targetted.
It is very easy to label some people and some states as rogue states and
perpetrators of terrorism. While doing so, let us look back and see as
to what happened in Afghanistan. In the late 70s when it came under the
grip of the erstwhile USSR, USA was hell bent on driving them out and
openly supported the Mujahideen who calimed to be fighting for Islam.
The tragedy is we see many tyrants of the world like Saddam, disgraced
president Auguste Pinoche, African leader Mobuto all grew and survived
many years on American support.
The US looks at nations purely on selfish motives and wanted Pakistan
all these years and now suddenly felt India is a better bet and so the
sanctions will be off soon and top defence officials are slated to come
to Delhi to further Indo-US ties.
At this time, let us also think that it is US which wanted to make a
Nuclear Missile shield much against the wishes of many nations and in
total disregard of international treaty. Also they were the one who
walked out of the UN meet of racism. And all of us know even as late as
the sixties blacks and whites had separate buses and eateries in the US.
And now are the plight of blacks any better? Ask any American black and
he will tell you.
What lesson does the incidents in America teach us? Don't just preach,
but practice what you preach. Human rights, freedom, liberty the three
most American words we hear day in day out. Let that happen first and
then let us talk.
Now many analysts are blaming Islamic fundamentalists for the crime. It
is easy to blame somone and get away with it.
The innocent people of Libya, Iraq, Sudan and Afghanistan also went
through horrible times and travails of attacks US. How can we forget
Vietnam and Hiroshima?
So can the superpower rest in peace now. No way this is just the
beginning. As you sow, so you reap.
