While I agree that dissenting opinions are what define a democracy,
it is also very important to know the background of the people with
the opinion. Many of these commentators have deep vested interests 
and a loathsome agenda. David Duke is one such person. 

David Duke is a racist and an anti-semite (anti-Jew). As a college 
student, he founded the neo-Nazi group White Youth Alliance. After 
his graduation, Duke founded the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and 
launched a publicity blitz that boosted its membership. The Klan
is America's oldest hate group and has pepetrated many crimes
against people it does not like - all non-whites. 

He and his groups have preached white supremacy and have blamed 
blacks and jews and immigrants for any and all problems.

It is not surprising that he wrote a column blaming Israel and the
Jews for the terrorist attacks on the US. He is just furthering
his agenda.

Many hate-mongers are very articulate and have found the web/email 
as an easy way to spread their venom.  It is very important to be 
vigilant about the real motives behind such writing and speeches.
Otherwise, we are just playing into their hands.
