I agree. But email has its own issues. I think that email adds a layer
of formality (not necessarily a bad thing) which may turn people off.
It is also more disruptive - seeing 10 emails from the list in your
'Inbox' may not be very pleasant for people who don't use filters.
These messages are also difficult to ignore if they are abusive and
offensive. I know a lot of people who have left the list after a
discussion turned sour.

Plus email is generally still tied to our real personalities. See how
the majority of the people here use their real names. As a result
sending an email to a group of people may be intimidating for some.
Writing something on a website under a pseudonym may be easier.

If any of the list members have a different opinion, I would like to know.

BTW, going back to the original question, more members on the list are
interesting only if they participate in the discussions. There is no
membership fee so just having more members doesn't really help me in
any way.

And 'nukkad's relationship to the mumbai-central.com site may also be
a factor. Many people might mistakenly assume that the list is very
Mumbai-specific when it is not. If anyone wants to increase the
membership, feel free to invite others.

If I can do something to make the list more inviting and comfortable,
let me know.
