[nukkad] Kozhi Melagu Varuval



Hi

Tasted a delicious chicken dish yesterday - "Kozhi Melagu Varuval". Which part 
of the country is the dish from? What are the exact meanings of the three words?

For those who are interested, the recipe is given below.

Kozhi Melagu Varuval

Chicken cut into small pieces - 1
Oil - 2 tbsp
Onions finely chopped -2 medium
Garlick cloves finely chopped - 5 to 6
Ginger finely chopped - 1 inch
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 6 to 8
Black pepper corns crushed - 4 to 5
Tomatoes finely chopped - 3 medium
Salt to taste

Heat oil in a pan. Add onion, garlic and ginger. Saute till change in colour. 
Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder, curry leaves and 
pepper corns. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Add tomatoes and salt. Stir and cook for 
about 5 minutes so that the tomatoes are soft. Add chicken pieces and stir to 
mix well. Cover and cook. Keep stirring in between. Add a little water if 
necessary. Cook till chicken is tender. Serve hot.
