So it does seem to be celebrated quite widely in the north and in the
east. The folks in the west and the south seem to be oblivious to
this.

Interesting info. The celebrations sound like a combination of the way
Sankrant (kite flying) and Dashera (tool puja) are celebrated in
Gujarat.

I know. I included "Vishwakarma" in my original email because that's
how he is known outside the Eastern bloc.

BTW, are there two twin brothers in Hindu mythology who are also
considered architects? I can't think of their names right now and my
google-fu is weak today.
