It is possible that the visibility of text as garble may depend upon the
operating system. Windows XP users may not have a problem because of its
inbuilt fonts.

And, yes, I use Arial Unicode MS.

There is no universally agreed upon plural of "fez". Fezi, fezipod, 
fezipodes, fezes and fezipoda are all commonly used.
