Today's cricketers are not just mythical celebrities but actually wealthy 
individuals. They undergo the most sophisticated training money can buy; as 
media stars, they endorse everything from soft drinks to automobile tyres. In 
the end, like their less fortunate forebears, they still lose. Despite
the hype, for which money-grubbing ad agencies are mostly responsible, not much 
has changed by way of performance on the field. Indian cricket is still tagged 
with the loser label.
