[nukkad] Cliched responses to death

Hi

Some responses to death are even more bizzare.  I have
seen people who were bitter enemies and went to
ridiculous extent to get even with each other.  But
when one of them dies, they come and shed tears that
appear to be genuine display of grief.  In fact, till
about a few years back, there was a custom in South
India that people  of a particular community are not
supposed to cry.  So when a death happens,
"professional criers" are employed to come and cry at
the funeral:)

I vaguely remember having read about a community where
death is celebrated.  The logic behind celebrations is
that the soul has been emancipated; therefore the
celebrations.

I believe in the Christian community, people are
supposed to wear black dress for upto one year when an
immediately family member dies.  It was condensed
later on to wearing a black strip for one year.  In
the current age of micros and nano sciences, this has
further been condensed to wearing a black trip for one
week.
